Melvin L. Botzet, age 84 of Crystal passed away peacefully on November 12, 2021, with his wife of 62 years at his side.
Melvin was raised in Belle River, MN and after high school continued farming on the family farm and was also a member of the Alexandria National Guard. Melvin met the love of his life and married in 1959. He and Marian moved to Crystal, MN after their first three children were born and Melvin began a long career as a machinist, retiring in September 2001.
He is loved and will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Marian (Larson) Botzet; daughters, Bev (Verlon) Schmitz, Brenda (Chuck) Olson, Bernice (Andrew) Bertram; sons, Brian (Noel) Botzet, Bernard Botzet; grandchildren, Zachary (Kate) Schmitz and Vanessa Olson; great grandchildren, Ena and Connor Schmitz; sister-in-law, Sr. Mary Georgine Larson, OSF; many relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Ellen; mother and father-in-law, George and Marie Larson; brothers-in-law, Raphael Larson and Kenneth Larson.
Mel enjoyed farming, loved driving John Deere tractors, square dancing, fishing, deer hunting, listening to country music and visiting with family and friends.
Mass of Christian burial 11 AM Friday, Nov. 19 at The Church of St. Mary of the Lake, 105 Forestview Lane, Plymouth with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Private Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Belle River, MN.
