Mayme Ruth Spence

Mayme R. Spence, first born to Roy and Ruth (Anfinson) Robideau of Monticello passed away at 83 years young on December 29th, 2023.

She was born on May 20, 1940, in Milaca, MN.  Mayme was raised in Monticello and moved to Minneapolis to attend school to become a Beautician.  There, she met Bob and together they raised a family in Crystal.  Mayme worked in the Beauty Shop at St. Therese Nursing home for many years before joining her husband in his business adventure, Bob’s Binding & Serging, Inc.  They eventually retired to Fort Myers, Florida.  Mayme loved babies, golf, beading, fishing for sunfish, dancing, fun friends, family and shoes. She was an amazing cook.  When she golfed, she had a long straight drive that made us all green with envy.

Mayme was succeeded in death by her husband Robert (Bob), her parents Roy and Ruth and her sister Philis Bitzer.

Survived by her siblings, LeRoy (Sharon) Robideau, Irene Huston, Rosie (Marvin/Butch) Gasper, Donald (Joan) Robideau, Dorothy (Terry) Seestrom, Shirley (Mark) McNabb, and Carrol (Randy) Zwilling. Her children Bryan (Debra) Spence, Dale (Sue) Spence and Annette (Frank) Weber. 6 Grandchildren Nicholas Spence, Ashley Spence, Kristine (Eric) Olson, Andrew (Samantha) Spence, Aidan Weber and Mayme Weber.  5 great-grandchildren Charlotte, Spencer, Hunter, Lorali and Leon.

We will be celebrating her life well lived, with a Catholic Mass at 10:00 am on Friday January 26, 2024. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass at St. Raphael’s Church 7301 Bass Lake Rd., Crystal, MN  55428.

In Lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are preferred to Keane Sense of Rhythm.
