Matthew Koch, age 27- born 17 Dec 1993 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, where his mother Carla named him Gabriel. Matthew gained his angel wings suddenly in his sleep on December 13th, 2021.
Matt grew up in Plymouth, MN. A graduate of Armstrong High School, he was a three-sport athlete - football, wrestling and lacrosse. Graduate of UW-Eau Claire, where he met his true love, Julia. He worked in sales at SPS Commerce.
Matt was a people person. He touched so many with his infectious smile and very kind soul. He lifted others up and made everyone feel better. He loved being outdoors - whether it was at a lake, on his grandparents’ farm, golf course, or at a dog park. Matt and Julia were not prone to sitting still - they were always seeking adventures and making the most of each and every day.
Survived by his fiancée Julia Stedman and his Best Buddy Mose; his parents Tim and Betsy Koch; sisters Carmen and Camille; Julia’s parents Dennis and Ann and brother Dalton. Also survived by loving aunts, uncles and cousins, Carla (Birthmother), and Grandma Sandy.
He was greeted to eternal life by his grandparents Bill and Lorraine Koch, Bill Skelly, Dorothy Skelly.
Service: Sunday December 19 St Joseph Parish Center, 8701 36th Ave N. New Hope from 1-5 with remembrance service at 2. Dress “Matthew casual” please. Wearing masks is advised.
