MaryAnn was born Dec 13, 1929 to John and Margaret Carlson in Clinton, MN. She graduated from Minneapolis Central HS. In October 1949, MaryAnn married the love of her life, William Dise, and together they had twelve children. MaryAnn devoted her life to her large family. A master at money management, she provided well for her family on Bill’s carpenter’s salary, and each child received a parochial school education. Renowned for her scratch cooking and baking, she also raised vegetables and daily produced delicious meals and treats. Bill died in 1979.
MaryAnn married Jim Bove in 1983. They enjoyed wintering in Lanark Village, Florida, where they were active in various community organizations. MaryAnn worked on countless fundraisers, including one that resulted in the purchase of a bus used to shuttle Lanark residents to Tallahassee for shopping. A devout Catholic, Maryann served in her parishes as Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and chaired church guilds. MaryAnn led a selfless life, consistently putting others’ needs and comfort first. She offered prayer, compassion, forgiveness and generosity to all. To the end, she retained her sense of humor, was interested in others’ well-being, and never neglected to thank anyone providing even the smallest task. Despite having twelve children, she always had room in her heart for more and considered her nursing home aides as family. MaryAnn, an angel on earth loved by all who knew her, has joined Heaven’s choir of Cherubim. Preceded in death by: William Dise; sons John, Jeffrey, Kevin and Eric; Jim Bove; parents; brother Bill; and sister Lucy.
