Mary K. Verkennes

Mary K. Verkennes, 78, of Maple Grove, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017.

Mary had an active childhood, enjoying and playing sports with friends and siblings,  She spent five years in the Order of St. Joseph convent; religion was a very important part of her life.

Mary married Frands Jensen in 1966, lasting 14 years. She enjoyed many years on the Jensen farm and the Jensen family.  Mary was a wonderful and caring mother and grandmother.

She spent many years in the medical system helping patients. That "care for others" attitude carried through in her retirement years; caring and showing kindness, her sense of humor and her independence, making her a true "people person".

She was preceded in death by sister, Marge Francis and an infant sister, Rita.

Beloved mother of Julie Rosseau and Janet Elsenpeter; loving sister of Bill (Dianne) Verkennes, Bob (Mary Kay) Verkennes and Geri (Jim) Giebenhain; beloved grandmother of Brianna, Michael, Henry, Charlie and Lizzie.

Prayer service at 7:30 pm.

Visitation after 10 am. Entombment at Gethsemane Cemetery.
