Mary Catherine Tadich, 88, passed peacefully at midday on Thursday, January 03 in Carondelet Village in Saint Paul. Born on January 27, 1935, to Anthony ('Spike') and Helen ('Babe') Nevin, she grew up in the Irish village of Green Isle, MN where her parents and all four grandparents had also grown up and in which her father owned and operated an all-important general store. Predecessors to her MN ancestors lived in Counties Mayo and Sligo in Ireland. She attended high school in Glencoe near her hometown of Green Isle, graduating in 1953. While attending The College of Saint Catherine in Saint Paul as a Nursing student, she met College of Saint Thomas student Donald Tadich at a 1956 Valentine's Day dance. They married on August 16, 1958 in Saint Brendan's Church in Green Isle, MN and raised their four children in Bloomington, MN.
Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Donald, and their youngest daughter Molly Ellen, as well as her only sibling, older brother Robert John Nevin and his wife, Barbara Ann Nevin, and Bob and Barb's oldest child Terri and youngest child Tommy.
Mary Catherine is survived by three children: Mary Elizabeth (Michael Bauer), Matthew Anthony (Oksana), Teresa Ann (Mark McCarthy); nine grand-children: Natalia (Phil Hudelson), Greta (Michael J. Wodarcyk), Anthony Bauer, Gabriel (Caroline) Bauer, Madeline (Timothy Van Havermaet), Genevieve McCarthy, Noelle McCarthy, Colette (Jacob Wunder), Mark David McCarthy; and six great-grandsons: Nicholas, Liam, and Alfred Hudelson, Michael X. and Leo Wodarcyk, and Joseph Van Havermaet.
The funeral Mass at Church of the Annunciation in Minneapolis burial in Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights took place on Saturday, January 13.
