Mary Joan (Tracy) Larsen

Our amazing Mother passed away at the age of 93 on Jan. 13, 2023 after a long full wonderful life. She was very loved by all. She was predeceased by mother, Gertrude; father, Harverd “Bops”; brothers Paul & Larry; husband, Dick; grandson, Vince. Survived by son Chuck, daughters, Susan (Robert) & Anne; grandkids: Tracy (Gary) & David (Jessica); Vince's wife, Kimberley; great grandchildren: Hayven, Donovan, Jordin, Emmitt, & Amelia; sister-in-law, Marcelle; and many nieces & nephews.

She grew up in North & NorthEast Minneapolis where she attended Ascension & St Charles Grade Schools, St Margaret’s Academy, U of M Farm Campus. After marriage, she lived over 60 years at 2 residences in Robbinsdale.  Mary Joan was known for being a terrific host, cook, entertainer and instigator of fun for family, friends, classmates, church activities @ St Austin’s & Senior Community of St Therese in New Hope. She organized yearly reunions for her St Margaret’s Class of 1947. She was inducted into Benilde-St Margaret’s Hall of Honor for Volunteer Service. She was the lead Basement Lady for Funerals, Banquets and Rummage Sales. Participated in Loaves & Fishes and numerous Charity Events.  She worked at Rosackers, U of M, Norcosco, Midwest Federal Midwesterners Club, and First Bank.

Visitation Wednesday, January 18, 5-7 PM at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway, and Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4030 Jackson St NE, Columbia Heights. Visitation starting 10AM at church.  Interment Hillside Cemetery.  Memorials preferred to Holy Cross Mission Center, PO Box 543, Notre Dame, IN 46556
