Krogstad, Mary Catherine (Bauer)

Age 88 of Plymouth, formerly Crystal, passed away peacefully at North Memorial Medical Center on December 20, 2023, after a brief illness.

Mary was preceded in death by her three children; son Tony Krogstad, daughter Brenda Krogstad and daughter Michele (Shelly) Steward.  She is survived by her husband of 67 years Bruce Krogstad and her grandchildren Johnny, Ben and Grace Steward.  She is also survived by her son-in-law John Steward, her brother Gene Bauer, her sisters Betty Olson, Dodie Lawrence, and Carol (Dennis) Kelly, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was born on December 12, 1935 to parents Joseph and Margaret Guptil Bauer.  She was a graduate of Robbinsdale High School.  She married Bruce Krogstad on August 11, 1956.  They raised their children in Robbinsdale and later in Crystal.  Mary was the office manager at the Post Newspapers for many years.  She was very active in the community including the Robbinsdale Whiz Bang Days committee.  She volunteered for many years at Sacred Heart in the office and in many other capacities.

Mary was a kind, gracious person.  She endured the loss of all three of her children with dignity and great faith, sharing her grief and composure with Bruce and family in the saddest days of her life.  She was a friend to many people and was loved by family and countless friends.  She will be missed.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Church of the Sacred Heart, 4087 W. Broadway.  Visitation at church one hour prior to Mass.  Interment at Gethsemane Cemetery, New Hope.  Memorials preferred to Sacred Heart Church
