Mary Kathleen Gorman Grendahl was born to Jack and Mary Morris Gorman on May 12, 1939 and passed away March 25, 2020.

Survived by children, James Grendahl (Amarilis), John (Suzanne) Grendahl, Thomas (Anne) Grendahl, Sarah Grendahl and Laura Grendahl; grandchildren, Michael, Kayla, Erinn, Jake & Jack Grendahl; sisters, Winnie (Tom) Collins & Ann (Mark) Thelen, many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mary; brothers, Lawrence and John Gorman; and her former husband, Dennis Grendahl.

Kathy grew up on Minneapolis' north side and graduated from St. Bridget's Elementary school, St. Margaret's Academy, and the College of Saint Catherine.  She spent many summers on her uncle's farm in Iowa, loved the rural life, and possessed a special affinity for horses.  Kathy was an accomplished artist and in 1953 won a scholarship to the Minneapolis Art Institute (now MCAD) and later earned her Bachelors degree from St. Kate's in Art and English.  After college, she taught Art, English, and Religion at Archbishop Murray High School and St. Anthony High School.  She raised her five children while at the same time growing the family business.  She spent the balance of her career in real estate as the owner of The Park Apartments, retiring in 2015.  Kathy will always be remembered for her elegance, interior design talents, her ravishing red hair, generosity, and her deep and enduring faith.

Mass of Christian Burial was held for family at the Church of St. Bartholomew, Wayzata.  Interment Gethsemane Cemetery, New Hope.

Memorials preferred to Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Minneapolis.
