Marion E. (Phillippi) Gessner

Marion Phillippi Gessner, of Friendship Village, Bloomington. Born November 28, 1916 and passed away July 1, 2017 at age 100.

She was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Bennett; husbands, Joseph Phillippi of 40 yrs. and Roy Gessner of 15 yrs; sons, Tom and Tim Phillippi; grandchildren, Andrew Archer and Megan Phillippi.

Survived by children, Joel (Bonnie) Phillippi, Kathy (Bill) Fox, Mike (Kathy) Phillippi, Gail (Scott) Archer, Marilyn Phillippi (friend, Bob Mallon), Sally (Brad) Hunner; daughter-in-law, Marcia Scavuzzo; 8 grandchildren, Jason (Michele) Phillippi,  Chris (Johnathan) Smith, David Fox, Kerry (Paul) Mahoney, Colleen (Steve) LaQua, Ryan (Kelli) Phillippi, Ali Archer (fiance’ Nick Schwarzrock), Peter Hunner, Michael (Kristy) Ferlis and 8 great grandchildren, Jason Phillippi, Connor and Katie Mahoney, Olivia, Chloe and Fallon Smith, Drew and Alex LaQua.

She was admired for her intelligence, generosity, kindheartedness, and energetic personality. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed golfing with her good friends at Minikahda.

A Memorial Mass to celebrate Marion’s life will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 11th at Pax Christi Catholic Community, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie with visitation beginning at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Pax Christi Church, Friendship Village of Bloomington or Methodist Hospice.
