Marilyn L. Wirth

Marilyn Wirth (Navin) age 88 of Wayzata, MN passed away peacefully on November 15, 2018.  Preceded in death by loving husband Robert Wirth.

Marilyn is survived by her sons Michael (Kathy), Charles (Jeanine) and William (Nancy), grandchildren Emily (Kevin) Grasse, Allison (Justin) Hay, Kathleen, Christine, Lindsay, Megan, and Madelyn, great grandchildren Addison, Genevieve, Charles, Juliette and Caldwell.

Marilyn was born in Des Moines, IA, her family moved to Madison, WI where she graduated from Madison West High School in 1948. She attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, was a member of the Tri Delta sorority and graduated with a degree in Art Education.

Bob and Marilyn married on June 20, 1953. They lived in Appleton, WI where Marilyn cared for her family, enjoyed a wide circle of friends, and taught art to thousands of children within the school system.

She and Bob retired to Marco Island where she pursued her art and painting. Marilyn’s artistic accomplishments were recognized throughout her life.

Marilyn recently moved to Wayzata, MN where she could be near family. Many thanks to family, friends and the caring staff at Folkestone for making Marilyn’s new home so welcoming and comfortable.

Marilyn was our treasure, she leaves a legacy of beautiful art, and a history of inspiring and sharing her creative talent with others.

Visitation at 1pm, Mass of Christian Burial 2pm Friday, November 30 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Appleton, WI.

Donations preferred to Marco Island Center for the Arts, or The Trout Museum of Art, Appleton, WI.
