Our beautiful Marilyn Jean Smith of Plymouth, MN, passed peacefully with her husband by her side, on June 24 at the age of 84. Preceded in death by daughter Kathleen. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Patrick J. Smith; sons P.J. (Carol), Brian (Carol), Mike, Matt (Lana); grandchildren Shawna, Kayla, Shelby, Spencer, Meagan, Dylan, Nikki and many nieces and nephews. Also preceded by her parents Joseph and Alice Dennehy, and siblings Patricia, Joseph, Eileen, Thomas and Lauretta.
Born in Oak Park, Il on July 5, 1935, Marilyn lived life with passion and enthusiasm. She was an inspiration and a voice of reason to many. She loved to cook, garden, travel and was very artistic. She worked many years in various service and retail jobs including 23 years as Administrative Assistant at Erickson’s Super Value. Mostly, she loved raising her 5 children and spending time with family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM, Monday, June 29, Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, 155 Cty. Rd. 24, Medina. Visitation prior to Mass beginning at 10 AM. Social distancing guidelines will be followed. Memorials to St. Jude’s Children Research.
