Marilyn Louise Larson

Marilyn Louise (Lee) Larson, 95, formerly of Golden Valley, Minnesota, entered her eternal home on April 13, 2025 while receiving care at Wealshire of Medina. Her funeral service will be held at King of Grace Lutheran Church in Golden Valley, Minnesota on Monday, April 21 at 11:00 AM. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Marilyn was born to Rev. Sophus E. Lee and Ruth Johanna Lee on May 27, 1929 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and became a child of God through her baptism at Emmaus Lutheran Church on June 16, 1929. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School and later graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1947. Her college years were spent at Bethany Lutheran College from 1947-1949.

On October 27, 1950 she married high school sweetheart Donald Allen Larson, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. They were married for nearly 49 years, prior to Don's death in 1999. Marilyn and Don were richly blessed with three daughters, Jan Louise Madson (David), LuAnn Ruth Shoop (Dean), and Linda Marie Eckberg (Tod).

Marilyn raised her children at home, and later became a valued employee of Donaldson's Department Store and Dahlberg Electronics. She was a faithful member at King of Grace, where she loved singing in the choir, and being a part of Kings Daughters and the Mr. and Mrs. Club. She and Don maintained friendships with many of their beloved Fairview and King of Grace families for years. Marilyn also remained close to many of her high school friends as well.

Marilyn was adored for her kind and grateful spirit. She loved others unconditionally and reflected compassion and grace throughout her life. As a child of God, Marilyn's most precious treasure was the promise of eternity in heaven, won for her through the life, death and resurrection of her Savior Jesus.

Marilyn is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, her 9 grandchildren: Kari (Derek), Joseph (Elissa), Timothy (Sarah), Benjamin (Leah), Emily (Collin), Andrew (Emily), Kelsey (Nick), Jonathan (Amber), Matthew, 22 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother David (Patty) Lee, brothers-in-law Richard (Marilyn) Larson and Dale (Carol) Larson, great grandsons Isaiah Shoop and Abram Shoop. Her family was her greatest joy!

Memorials are preferred to King of Grace Lutheran Church or Bethany Lutheran College or Seminary.

We rejoice at Marilyn's saving faith. Blessed be her memory.
