Marie Alvina Reinke

of Brooklyn Park was united with Jesus her Good Shepherd on November 27, 2019 at age 94.  Marie was born on a farm near Cresco, Iowa.  Marie had a fulfilling life, first as an elementary school teacher where she taught first grade for five years (1945-1950) in Grand Forks, ND, Virginia and Minneapolis, MN, Vancouver, WA, and Belleville, MI, and then as a homemaker raising four children in Minnesota and Clearwater, Florida.  She was active in her church and was also a volunteer tutor for the St. Petersburg Literacy Council in Florida.  She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Jacqueline, Richard and Mary Elizabeth, James and Diana Reinke; daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Daniel Cowan; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her father, Louis J. Kurdelmeier, and mother, Minnie Strien Kurdelmeier, her husband, Robert Reinke, grandchildren, Stephanie Reinke and Francis Reinke, and great-grandchild Benjamin Reinke.

Funeral service 11 am Saturday, November 30 at Shepherd of the Grove Lutheran Church, 11875 West Eagle Lake Drive, Maple Grove, MN 55369.  Visitation 1 hour prior to service on Saturday.  Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of gifts, Marie requests memorials be made to Lutheran World Relief, Alzheimer’s Association, or St. Therese Foundation.
