Marie Harriet Anderson (nee Hermanson)
Marie went to be with the Lord July 20, 2021 at age 90. Preceded in death by her husband, Verol; parents, Harry and Lydia Hermanson and sister, Avis Rasmussen. Forever in the hearts of her children, Shirley (Mike) Haapala, Steve Anderson, Scott (Jan) Anderson and Sharon (Rick) Reed; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Marie was born (July 4th1931) and raised in Spencer Wisconsin. She moved to Rochester, MN in 1950 where she met the love of her life, Verol Thane Anderson. Verol and Marie were married May 19, 1951 and raised their family in Rochester. Marie was a breast cancer survivor and volunteered for many years for the American Cancer Society Reach for Recovery program. She also worked for the Rochester Post Bulletin, Mayo Clinic and the Galleria. She was a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marie was dedicated to her family, loved to play cards, cribbage and travel. She will be deeply missed but she leaves behind a beautiful legacy.
Memorial Service 2pm Sunday, July 25 at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 15800 37 th Ave. in Plymouth. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. Livestream of Marie’s service will be available here on her obituary page. Private Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
