Marian Elizabeth (Dulban) Daniels
Born June 14, 1941. Died peacefully on February 4, 2025.
Survived by loving husband of 63 years, Albin; children Mike (Brenda), Deb (Karla), and Paul (Jenny); (4) grandchildren and (8) great-grandchildren; brother Ron (Betty) Dulban, sister-in-law Rita Daniels, a niece, nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank & Lillian Dulban, brother Francis Dulban, and granddaughter Lauren Daniels.
Marian was born and raised in Northeast Minneapolis where she met Al and they later married in 1961. They started their own family in NE Minneapolis, but soon outgrew it and in 1966 purchased their first home in Crystal, MN. 13 years later, Al built Marian her dream home in Plymouth where they still reside. It was in these two neighborhoods that they made life-long friends.
Marian raised her three children and somehow maintained a spotless home and an impeccably groomed yard. You wouldn’t find a speck of dust in the house nor a blade of grass out of place. She was also a very organized person. She always put 100% into everything she did and that included her sewing. There wasn’t anything that Marian couldn’t sew and/or mend.
Marian worked at Montgomery Wards in Robbinsdale for many years and then for the Robbinsdale School District as a paraprofessional. This also included teaching swimming lessons to special needs children. Marian was a lover of children and never hesitated to chat with little ones. She loved her young students. Marian never stopped educating herself either. She enjoyed taking Spanish classes and spending time with the many friends that she met in class. Marian even went back to college and got her A.A. degree from North Hennepin where on one occasion had Deb and Paul as classmates.
Marian and Al loved to travel and did a lot in their 63 years together. They started out by taking their children (and the dog) on driving vacations to the North Shore, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, and many of the historic battlefields throughout the south. Over the years, and after the children were grown up, they ventured off to many international destinations that included trips to multiple Mexican cities, Jamaica and other Caribbean islands, Spain, Morocco, Poland, and the Czech Republic to name a few.
Marian and Al were wonderful travel partners and would love to explore the backroads of the North Shore. They would often times find a simple little spot to enjoy a picnic, and winter didn’t stop them either as many of their trips were in the snow where they would enjoy a little cross country skiing. Whether it was traveling up north or just making a casino run, Marian & Al spent a lot of time together just enjoying life and each other’s company.
Throughout the years, they would spend considerable time at the family farm in Brandon, MN. At the farm, she got to spend many hours doing her favorite things: fishing on Lake Mina, gardening, loving the outdoors, going for deer runs at dusk, and especially picking up sticks and finding branches that needed to be cut. Her “to do” lists for others were often long, but she was not afraid to work. She spent many weekends up there where she would be in the yard all day getting it to her level of excellence.
The farm will never be the same without Marian, nor will our lives. She loved people and was a great conversationalist. Dementia may have taken her ability to converse with us in the last few years, but she retained the same caring and kindness in her soul and you could see that in her eyes and in her touch. We love you Marian, and we will miss your love and kindness very, very much.
