Margie E. Satter

Marjorie Ellen Satter, lovingly known as Margie, Toots, Babe, Mom, Grandma, Auntie M, and Marjie Minnesota, age 73 of Plymouth, passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2021, at North Memorial Hospital.  Margie was surrounded by family, in person and in spirit, during her final hours. Margie was born on February 27, 1947, in Glenwood, Minnesota to Charles and Margret Kettells. She was a 1965 graduate of Glenwood High School, where she was a cheerleader, played clarinet, and was the most beautiful member of the 1965 Glenwood Waterama Royalty Court. During that time, Margie caught the eye of a fella from a neighboring town, and the adventure of a lifetime began! Jack and Margie were married on February 19, 1966. Throughout their 55 years together, Jack and Margie made homes in Minnesota, Texas, California, and New Jersey. During this time, Margie often rubbed shoulders with famous people in the music industry, but never lost her small-town charm.
Those who know Margie are well aware of her love of animals, especially her pups. Cindy, Cassie, Raisin, Lacy, Cricket, and Sonny preceded Margie in death and always remained in her heart, as well as their ashes in her underwear drawer. Her love of animals went beyond her pets. Margie was a Vet Tech for many years. Her heart for service was also seen in her years volunteering, then working as the activity director at the North Ridge Nursing Home. Margie was also generous, talented and creative when it came to making any moment brighter by adding her delicious treats, perfectly delivered wit, and beautiful laugh.
Margie was preceded in death by her father, Charles Kettells. She is survived by her beloved husband, best friend and partner in crime, Jack; Daughters, Julie (Michael) Gerstein and Jill (Anthony) DiGiovanni; son, Michael Satter; grandchildren, Ryan Satter, Jacob, Benjamin and Sophia Gerstein, Katie and Jack DiGiovanni, Margaret Satter; Mother, Margaret Kettells; Sister, Lois Kettells; Brother, Steve (Judy) Kettells; Pups, Gabi and Poppy; and many relatives and friends.
Visitation Friday (1/15), 5-7 PM at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Avenue North.  Margie’s interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery, at a later date. The family requests, if so desired, with gratitude, that memorials be made out to the Pope County Humane Society, 17584 195 th Avenue, Glenwood, MN 56334 or online at www.pchsmn.org .

Well done, good and faithful servant. Matthew 25:23.
