Marge Finley of Wayzata, MN and Janesville, MN, passed away September 8, 2017 surrounded by Joe, her loving husband of 63 years, and her children and grandchildren. Marge and Joe raised a tight-knit family who learned from mom the importance of fun, family and fellowship, to be passed on to the next generation. Mike (Linda) Finley of Janesville, Mary (Rich) Ostlund of Wayzata, Teresa (Dan) Murphy of Eden Prairie, Patty (Jim) Clark of Eden Prairie and Paul (Maureen) Finley of Plymouth, brought the joy of 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren to “Grandma Marge’s” life. Also survived by her sister, Kay Jones of Minneapolis and twin brother, Mark Nelson of Owatonna. Preceded in death by her brother, George Nelson of Minnetonka.
Born to Hazel and George Nelson, she grew up in Morgan, MN. She graduated from Mankato State University and taught elementary school in Janesville. Marge’s quick and easy Irish smile and wit; her love and need to harmonize to any tune (but really mom, the National Anthem too?); and her skills at bridge, golf and joke telling made her both the glue of so many holidays and friendships, and an example to her family on how to live a life of caring, faith and closeness and of living this journey “The right way”.
