We are sad to announce the passing of Margaret [Peg] Brantman of Plymouth, Minnesota. Peg died at the age of 76 on March 7th, 2023. She passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. Peg is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband Frank; three children: Michelle Beyers [John], Kelly Roles [Brad] and Christopher Brantman [Melody]; six grandchildren: Megan, Ally, Bennett, Eli, Tabitha and Zachary; and eleven siblings. She was preceded in death by her Father, Mother, and brother Billy.
Peg was born on December 20, 1946 to James and Mary McNamara in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was raised in Mundelein, Illinois where she was the oldest of 13 children [8 girls and 5 boys]. Her father owned a railroad supply company and her mother raised the very large family. Peg attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where after her junior year, she married Frank Brantman, third oldest of 11 [8 boys and 3 girls]. They enjoyed telling people that there were 21 brothers and sisters in the wedding party! Peg went on to graduate from Marquette with Magna Cum Laude honors and a degree in Special Education. Peg and Frank were happily married for over 55 years and together raised three children. Throughout her life, Peg had a strong focus on family including years of research and documentation of the Brantman and McNamara family trees. Most of all she loved, took great interest, and treasured her time with her children and grandchildren.
Along with raising and loving her family, Peg enjoyed her career as a Paralegal, a Guardian Ad Litem and as a Merchandiser for Hallmark. Her favorite hobby, however, was photography! She developed many great friendships across the country through her various photo club adventures and won many photography awards. She and Frank were also both Life Masters in Bridge, enjoyed playing golf and especially loved traveling the world together! During their travels, Peg found great joy in meeting and learning about people from different backgrounds and cultures, and of course taking pictures everywhere she went (38 countries & 6 continents)!
Peg will be remembered with love by her family and friends as a vibrant, caring, friendly, intelligent and inquisitive person. Her legacy, smile, and personality will carry forward in her children and their children.
The funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Parish Community in New Hope, Minnesota on Saturday, March 18th @ 11 am with visitation time prior at 9:45 am. Lunch will be served at the church afterward for all family and friends, followed by a private celebration of Christian burial.
In place of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society or Bunce Performing Arts, info@buncebackyard.com
