Marcia Oliphant

Marcia K. Oliphant, 77, of Plymouth, MN. passed away December 26,2024. She was born July 23, 1947 to Leroy and Phyllis Twait in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She grew up on a farm in Crystal Lake, Iowa with her parents and six younger brothers. Marcia enjoyed being the oldest child and she would often help her mother care for her younger brothers.

Marcia graduated from Forest City High School. After high school, Marcia graduated from Mankato State University where she received a bachelor's degree in education. After graduating from Mankato State she became a teacher and worked for the Elk River School District for 30 years.

After retiring, Marcia enjoyed spending time at her summer home on Mission Lake in Merrified, MN. While in Merrifield, she embraced the lake life. She loved to go on pontoon cruises with her good friends from the greater Brainerd Lakes Area. In the winter, she spent time at her home in Williston, Florida. While in Williston she enjoyed spending time with family and taking her dog Buddy for rides on her golf cart.

Marcia had a love for animals. She had many cats, dogs, and a horse during her lifetime. She cherished every animal she ever had and treated them like family. Marcia will be remembered for her kind heart and generosity.

Marcia will be missed by her daughter Rochelle, her beloved dog Buddy, and her 6 brothers. She is survived by family and many friends from the greater Brainerd Lakes Area, the Twin Cities and Crystal Lake, Iowa. Marcia is preceded in death by her parents Leroy and Phyllis Twait.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Forest City, Iowa.
