Marcia L. Gilbertson

Survived by husband, Weldon “Joe”; children, Ryan (Ashley) of Delano, Kellie (Paul) Tasto of Jordan, Kathleen “Katye” (Brian) Miller of Pacific Palisades, CA; grandchildren, Holden and Remington Gilbertson, Grace Tasto, Kate, Finn and Riley Miller; siblings Randy (Sharon) Johnson, Mary (Gordon) Dirlam, and Marilynn (Steven) Poss; and several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Preceded in death by her parents, Randall “Ranny” and Marcella Johnson.

Marcia was born and raised in Willmar, MN, where she belonged to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She graduated from Willmar High School in 1970, and St. Cloud State University in 1974 with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology. She and Joe settled in Bloomington, MN, where they raised their 3 children. Marcia loved to volunteer at Nativity of Mary, and the Academy of Holy Angels, as well as many organizations including a shelter for battered women and children. In 2009, Joe and Marcia moved to Orono.

Marcia loved being a grandmother to her 6 grandchildren. She was a friend to everyone she met, and had a way of making all feel special and loved. Her faith sustained her, and her kindness and generosity were unmatched. She will be dearly missed by many.
