Mae I. Larson Pokorney,

Age 97, of New Hope, MN passed away peacefully on September 23.

Mae was raised in Whitehall, daughter of Henry and Edna Larson. She graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stout and taught Home Economics in Richland Center, WI. There she met and married Charles Pokorney, a mining engineer, and they moved to Hibbing, MN to raise their family of 5 children and become part of the mining community. She was preceded in death by husband of 61 years Charles, and siblings Leila (Keil) Blank, Ethel (Robert) Van Sickle, and Alyn (Barbara) Larson, and son-in-law Barry Costanzi.

She is survived by her 5 children, Joan Pokorney Costanzi - Buffalo, David (Pam) Pokorney - Chaska, Diane Pokorney – Robbinsdale, James (Susan) Pokorney – Northfield, Mark (Patricia) Pokorney – Buffalo; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
