Luella Marie (Milton) Greene

91, of Robbinsdale, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at Suite Living Memory Care, surrounded by family.

Luella was devoted to her family and was so very in love with Jack Greene, her husband of 72 years. She was a proud graduate of North High School (go Polars).

Luella worked at Knights Drug store as a soda jerk, where Jack enjoyed her malts. After graduating from high school, she worked at Austin Mutual Insurance Company as a switchboard operator, elevator operator and typist. She worked for Target in Crystal, and later, Golden Valley Medical Center. Luella retired at age 74 after 17 years as a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) at North Memorial Hospital, Coronary Care Unit.

Luella enjoyed watching football with Jack, growing vegetables and flowers (competing with her brother Bob on growing tomatoes), and bowling in a couples league and in a women’s league on Wednesdays, followed by lunch.

Luella and Jack enjoyed socializing with their neighbors and often hosted the Neighborhood Night Out gatherings; even after they were no longer the organizers, neighbors still met at their place. Luella was a welcoming, gracious host and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, with lasagna her specialty.

Luella is preceded in death by beloved husband Jack; daughter Mary (Dale) Nord; great-granddaughter Rachael; parents Thornton and Mary Milton; siblings Gladys, Phil (Agnes), Bob, and Rita.

Luella is survived by children Pat (Larry Enwall), John (Betty), Mike (Wes), Tim (Paul), Chris; grandchildren Nate (Sara), Justin, Monica (Buck), Angella (Bob), Chase, and Colby; great-grandchildren Abel, Reagan, Reece, Logan, Devan, and Ryan.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 8th at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 West Broadway, with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment at Fort Snelling Cemetery.

Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
