Lois Ann (Louie) Peacock
age 79 of Minnetonka (formerly of St. Louis Park) passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 6, 2024. Preceded in death by her husband, Andy; parents, Albert and Louise Nelson; brothers, Roger, Wayne, and Jim; and daughter, Heather. She will be dearly missed by her; son, Andy (Leesa) Peacock; daughter, Jennifer (Theron) Weisz; four grandchildren, Kirsten, Neal, Camden and Nolan; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Louie was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. After graduating from Washburn High School, she worked at Surplus Foods in Minneapolis and two years later, married her husband, Andy. They were married for 56 years prior to his passing in 2020. Louie was a stay-at-home mom while the kids were in elementary school, after which she worked various data entry and retail jobs, ultimately landing on a fulfilling career at JCPenney.
Once retired, Andy and Louie split their time between their Minnetonka home and the family cabin on Gun Lake. Louie truly loved visiting with family and friends at events, on her many walks, while enjoying a glass of chardonnay in the lanai, on the phone, or at the Perk. She was a fierce supporter of Minnesota sports teams, having a special place in heart for the Vikings. She enjoyed working in her garden, sampling wine, making maple syrup with Andy, “ghostbusting” (genealogy) with her lifelong friend Enid, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her unwavering support, acceptance, and love for everyone in her life, with just the right amount of sassiness sprinkled in.
An open house style celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 4:30-7:30 at Unmapped Brewing at 14625 Excelsior Blvd, Minnetonka, MN 55345. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends memorial contributions be sent to the ALS Foundation.
