Leone Knaeble-Hunter

Leone was a member of Sacred Heart parish for 80 years and was a member of the first graduating class of Sacred Heart School where her strong faith was formed.  Widowed at an early age with 10 children aged 2 to 18, she went to work and raised her children without assistance.  Her devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary fittingly came to fruition  when she died on New Years Day, the feast of the Holy Mother of God, surrounded by her devoted children.

Preceded in death by husbands Joseph H. Knaeble and Norman Hunter; parents Joseph and Honorate Castonguay; siblings Marie DesRosier, Valerie Keske, Paul and George Castonguay.

Survived by sons Charles (Nancy), Thomas (Maria), Joseph (Peggy), Gene (Chery), Jack (Debbie); daughters Patsy (Dennis) Clark-McKinney, Susan Gislason, Barb (Mark) Zeman, Noella (Greg) Seaburg and Paula (Wayne) Svegal; children of Norm Hunter; 36 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers Mike (Annette), Joe Castonguay; sisters Therese (Roy) Lindgren, Noella (Dennis) Ericson and Rose Smeby; in-laws Marilyn Castonguay, Harriet Snell and Eileen Spano; many nieces and nephews.

Many thanks to North Memorial Hospice, especially Kiki and Abbey for their loving attention.

Interment Gethsemane Cemetery.

Memorials preferred to the Sacred Heart Building Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.
