Larry was born on April 5, 1925 and passed away on January 2,2018 at St Therese in New Hope. He loved his time there and had made many friends while living independently there from 2008-2018.
Larry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Louise in 2005; parents, Alfred and Rochelle; sons, Edward and Donald; granddaughter, Sarah; daughter-in-law, Roxane; siblings, Dorothy, Marion, Edmere, Edwin and Richard.
He is survived by his sons, William (Peggy), Robert (Debbie) and James (Jean); daughters, Barbara Overgard (Bruce), Katherine Williams (Scott) and Colleen Belsheim (Dennis); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Larry enlisted in the Navy during World War ll. He served on the hospital ship USS Relief in the Pacific from 1942-1945. He was discharged in April 1946. He always had many stories to share of his experiences and places he saw during that time. Larry held many jobs but retired after 24 years with MTC as a bus driver.
He loved to garden and grew beautiful flowers while living on Bryant Ave in Brooklyn Center. He was a wonderful cook and loved to bake and create new recipes. He was an avid golfer until he was 90. Other hobbies included rock hounding, rug hooking, bingo, making jewelry and playing games on Facebook. He was a friend to everyone he met and will be missed by all who knew him.
Larry was a great dad and wonderful grandpa. We love you and will miss you always.
