LaVerne Kintop 1932-2020

LaVerne was a wife, mother, Grammy, sister, aunt and friend. Married 67 years to Edward Kintop.

Loved and cared for six children Diane Sass (Mike); Cheryl Kintop (Bryce Larson); Edward “Randy” Kintop; Pamela Kintop; Teresa Kintop (Brian Bentley); five grandchildren, Alicia Sass; Bradley Sass; Andrew Kintop; Miles Kintop and Abigail Bentley and three great-grandchildren, Emily; Everly and Elowyn.

Reunited in death to husband, Edward and son, Stephen.

LaVerne was hard working and determined. When she returned to work in 1969 first with H & R Block as secretary to the district director, then onto Gamble Alden Life, her next move was into sales for a printing company (they were reluctant to hire a woman) when she left that position it was to go into business for herself and a partner (a man 20 years her junior), finishing at 80 years old with American Business Forms. She loved sales and the people she met and served along the way. She championed women’s rights.

LaVerne was a Girl Scout Leader, kid taxi service, counselor, therapist and strong support for her family. She was a member of BMFA, Business and Professional Women, Red Hats and WISE Investment Club gathering close friends along the way.

She will be missed by her family and best friend of 69 years Kay Dillan, who spoke to her every morning for the last 20 years.

Visitation Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Gearty Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway from 2 to 5 pm.

Service will be held Monday, October 5, 2020 at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway Ave., Robbinsdale, MN. Visitation 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM with Liturgy at 10:30 AM.
