Lance A. Maly, died peacefully at home on January 2, 2017 after a heroic year-long battle with brain cancer.
Lance was born in Des Moines, Iowa on October 21, 1966. He attended the University of Iowa, where he was a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Lance graduated from Iowa in 1989 with degrees in Economics and Communications. He had a long career in banking and finance, before pursuing his dream of owning and successfully operating his own company.
Lance was admired for his strong Catholic faith, his devotion to his family and his kind and generous spirit.
Lance will be remembered for his love of all sports, but especially running and golfing. A lifelong Cubs fan, he was thrilled that the Cubs won the 2016 World Series. Lance was a well-rounded person, who loved to read, cook and travel and there wasn’t a thing around the house that he couldn’t fix.
Lance is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Maureen; his beloved children; Caitlin and Luke,;his mother, Mary Jane; his sister, Michelle Hanson (Carter) and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip and his grandparents.
Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, January 7, 11 AM t the Church of St. Bartholomew, 630 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata. Visitation one hour before Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Brain Tumor Association.
