Kurt Robert Acker

Beloved son, brother and uncle passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 26 of cardiac arrest. Kurt was born on May 20, 1983 and grew up in Plymouth, MN. He attended Armstrong High School and achieved his culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu.

Kurt is survived by his parents, Keith and Jeannine (Kammer) Acker of Plymouth, sisters Erin (Jason) Wynne of Minneapolis and Elisabeth Acker of Minneapolis. Also surviving are his aunt and uncle, Eileen and Steve Canakes, aunt Phyllis Acker, and grandmother Maureen Kammer. Kurt was the fun-loving, wisecracking uncle to Garrett and Grayton Wynne, and cousin to Annie Waterhouse and JT Canakes.

Kurt was predeceased by his grandparents, Robert Kammer, Jean Wallerius, and Glenn and Helen Acker.

Kurt’s passion was fishing and he eagerly looked forward to ice out every spring. He was happiest on the water cruising the bays of Lake Minnetonka or the Whitefish Chain of Lakes. Kurt was a true and loyal friend and maintained his friendships throughout his life.

Family and friends are invited to join us as we celebrate Kurt’s life on Thursday, January 2 from 4:30–7:00 p.m. at Medina Entertainment Center. Please bring stories to share. (And Kurt would definitely encourage casual attire)!

Memorials are preferred to the Animal Humane Society or Camp Knutson: www.lssmn.org/campknutson/get-involved/donate
