Born July 1, 1963 in Faribault, MN, passed away March 5, 2017.
Survived by husband, Scott; son, Karl; parents, Edmund and Janet (Jones) Lozon; sister, Tracy (Mark) Canant and their children, Josie and Weston; mother-in-law, Ivadell Hafemeyer; brother-in-law, Bruce (Jodi) Hafemeyer and their children, Bryant (Nikki), Beau and Brice; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by father-in-law, Willis Hafemeyer.
After graduating from Faribault Senior High in 1981, Kelly received her BSRN from St. Olaf College in 1985 and married Scott Hafemeyer in June of 1989. She proudly held many skilled nursing positions and eventually became a Pediatric Heart Transplant Coordinator at the University of Minnesota. Kelly loved her job and the patients she cared for, but was forced to leave her career in 2002. While taking care of her own health and raising Karl whom she so dearly loved, became a full-time job, she longed for the day she would be able to return to the profession, but the mounting medical conditions and treatment complications never allowed it. Kelly was a bright, energetic person who maintained a positive outlook through it all, always looking for ways she could and crushing the excuses of why she couldn’t; an attitude which allowed her to travel to 49 states and Paris. All were amazed by her passion, strength, will and spirit to never give up the fight to beat the cancer that just wouldn’t stop. She was a loving mother, wife and a member of St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church in Plymouth who enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, and being a mentor of appropriate behavior to us all.
