Keith Dahlman, 92, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Born on March 7, 1933, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he lived a life marked by dedication to his career, love for adventure, and deep connections with family and friends.
Keith graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School, and continued on to earn his degree from Western Michigan, as well as graduate level studies at Michigan and Michigan State. He had a distinguished career as a chemist at 3M, where he worked for 32 years. His contributions to the field were significant, especially in his role traveling the world as a Patent Liaison. His passion for discovery and innovation left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him.
Beyond his professional achievements, Keith had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. He had a lifelong love of flying and found joy in spending time at his cherished retreats in Wisconsin and Hawaii. Keith also spent much of his time volunteering at the Kinder Konzerts at Orchestra Hall, sharing his love of music with little ones. Whether soaring through the skies, reveling in the joy of teaching music, or relaxing in the beauty of nature, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm.
Keith was known for his warmth and generosity. A natural storyteller, he delighted in sharing memories and experiences, bringing laughter and wisdom to every conversation. His ability to share memories, unique to each person he visited, made gatherings with him truly special.
He is survived by his sister, Laurie Dahlman; son, Rick Dahlman; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Kyle McIntyre; grandson, Andrew McIntyre; and granddaughter, Erinn McIntyre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Geraldine and Edward Dahlman.
A man of faith, Keith was a devoted member of the Methodist community. His kindness and generosity reflected the values he held dear throughout his life.
Keith’s legacy lives on through the stories he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories created with family and friends over great meals and gatherings filled with laughter and love. A special thank you to the staff at The Willows at Arbor Lakes and the staff at Grace Hospice for their kind and generous care for Keith. Details of a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
