Kathleen Marian Sather (nee O' Keefe) was born on February 2, 1934, and her father immediately called her "Kitty O' Keefe." She died on October 29, 2021, at the age of 87, with her son Tom beside her.
She is survived by her children, Lynn Marie (Jonathan) Diamond; Dave and Tom (Beth) Sather; daughter-in-law, Katy (Paul) Connors; grandchildren, Michael (In Sook) Diamond, Eli, and Amy (Colby) Diamond, Olivia and Daniel Sather, Emilyjohn Sather Connors and Sara Connors; great-grandchildren, Serena and Joshua Diamond; sister-in-law, Karen Kupper; and numerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband/boyfriend, Bob and son, John; parents, John "Doc" and Marian O'Keefe; big sister and brothers, Margaret (John) Henry, Norbert (Angela), and Patrick O'Keefe; and niece, Bridget O'Keefe Dunn.
Kitty grew up in Williston, ND, and went on to college at the University of North Dakota, where she met Bob, the sorority busboy who inspired her to graduate in three years. She was a teacher in the Bloomington, MN, schools, teaching business classes and later earned her Master's degree to teach Special Education. Kitty was a gracious and skilled hostess, entertaining countless guests throughout the years. Her husband Bob often bragged that her kitchen was "the best restaurant in town!" Kitty had numerous life-long friends, (including the Elegant Eight!) and was always eager to reach out and make new connections. She loved people and embraced them the way they were. Kitty was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her grandchildren. She was a woman of faith, and her quiet spirituality was expressed in the many prayer shawls she knitted. She was an avid, life-long Bridge player, and she also played Cribbage, especially relishing her many wins! Kitty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she enjoyed attending their events, hosting tea parties, and hearing all the latest news. The family would like to thank the staff at TowerLight and all the friends and relatives who made Kitty's life richer.
