7/18/1928 – 1/18/2022
Age 93, of Brooklyn Center, preceded in death by parents, William and Frances (Gleason) Kennedy; sister, Mary Luhman; brothers-in-law, James Campbell, Harlan Weber and Stan Luhman. Survived by beloved husband of 71 years, Paul Ditter; children, Jeannie (John Rodgers), Steven, Michelle (Kris Kirkbride), Laurence, Mary Beth (Ray Morales); sisters, Margaret Campbell, Joann Weber and Phyllis (Marvin) Bourgeois; step-grandchildren, Brant Berg, Bianca Morales-Egan (Scott Egan) and their children Dav and Liam; many loving relatives and friends.
Kay grew up on a farm in Corcoran, attended a one-room schoolhouse and was later class valedictorian at Buffalo High. In addition to raising five children, she worked for Northwestern Bank, JC Penney and NSP, where she made many lifelong friends. She was active in civic and church volunteering. She loved playing bridge, 500 and cribbage and to cook and entertain. Family cross-country trips, summers at the lake, and in retirement, trips west to visit family and friends were among her joys. She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM at The Church of St. Alphonsus, 7025 Halifax Ave. N., Brooklyn Center, 55429. Visitation one hour prior at church. Masks and social distancing required. Private interment at a later date. Memorials preferred to State Services for the Blind, 2200 University Ave W. #240, St. Paul, MN 55114.
