Kathleen Brennan

Kathleen “Kathy” Brennan, a devoted wife, mother, and tireless advocate, passed away on September 19th, 2023, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, surrounded by family.

Kathy was born on December 13th, 1937, in Swissvale, Pennsylvania to Edward and Rose Collins. Kathy's life was marked by her dedication to her family and community. She worked as a stewardess for American Airlines in her early 20s until she married the love of her life, Michael Brennan. After raising their four children, she became an advocate for abused women in Hennepin County. Her commitment to helping others extended to her involvement in politics, as she tirelessly campaigned for causes she believed in. Even in her 70s, Kathy went door-to-door in an effort to Get Out the Vote. She also served as a delegate in Minneapolis, actively shaping the political landscape. Kathy Brennan would want us to remind you all to vote in our next presidential election. Her unwavering support and sense of humor brightened the lives of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Kathy's legacy of activism and compassion will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Rose Collins and her sister Joanne Stoehr. Kathy is survived by her husband Michael, her sister Bernadette Roitz, her children, Michael Brennan Jr., Mary Coursey (Chuck), Susan Meagher (Brian), Tracey George (Rob); her grandchildren, Kelsey Anderson (Brian), Patrick Vinge (Jess), Emily Vinge, Amy Qualle (Derek), Charlie Coursey, Annie Coursey, Rosie Coursey, Patrick Meagher, Grant Meagher, Clare Coursey, Brennan George, Ned Coursey, Katherine George, and John Meagher; and her great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Olivia Anderson.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 24th from 4-7 p.m. at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Home in Robbinsdale. The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 25th at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Robbinsdale, with visitation one hour prior to the funeral. In remembrance of Kathy’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Tubman, Minnesota’s largest provider of domestic violence shelter services.
