Julie Ann Claridge,

age 60, of Maple Grove lost her courageous battle with depression on December 11, 2018. Julie was born on October 21, 1958 in Mankato, Minnesota, to Audrey and the late Warren Claridge. Julie graduated from Mankato East High School, class of 1977. She attended Mankato State University, University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, and the Medical Institute of Minnesota. With a love of serving others, she worked in travel service industry and as a veterinary assistant. She found her true calling in raising her two daughters, Libby and Katie. They were her whole world. She loved family time at the cabin, biking, and spending quality time with friends. She was also an active member of St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church - involved in youth mission trips, confirmation classes, and the Miriam Circle and Care Givers prayer groups.

Julie is survived by her daughters, Libby (Andy) Johnson of Maple Grove, MN, and Katie Macht of Cedar Rapids, IA; mother, Audrey Claridge of Mankato, MN; sisters, Barb Claridge of Eden Prairie, MN, and Mona (Tom) Kohl of Fort Atkinson, WI; nephews, Joel Kohl and his daughters, Abbey and Elly, and Jesse (Deanne) Kohl and their children, Layla, Lennox, and Gibson of Fort Atkinson, WI; niece, Jamie (Sam) Hansen and their children, Lucas, Molly, and Emily of Hayfield, MN; Libby and Katie’s father, Tom Macht; special cousins and many,  loving and supportive friends.

Julie is preceded in death by her father, Warren Claridge (1989), maternal and paternal grandparents, and her beloved golden retrievers, Annie and Sadie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to National Alliance of Mental Illness (Nami) or donor’s choice.
