Judith "Judy" Jane LeRoux

August 29, 1938 — February 18, 2025

Judith "Judy" Jane LeRoux

age 86, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom, and her daughter-in-law Kristen. She is survived by her 2 brothers, Joe and David; her 4 children, Steve (Loree), Chris (Joel), Mike (Barbara), and Tim; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and beloved friends. Judy was deeply devoted to her husband (Tom) for 63 years. She was a woman of strong Catholic faith and a caring mother who always put family first.

Judy was born in Hudson, Wisconsin on August 29, 1938 and was raised in North Hudson. She has two younger brothers, Joe and David, whom she adored. She had a happy childhood and was the “Pepper Queen” in a local parade. She attended Stillwater High School and went to college in St. Cloud, Minnesota where she met her husband Tom. She made friends easily and remained a loyal friend for life. She was close to her high school and college friends her entire adult life and she cherished the close relationships. Long after college, her college “sisters” often got together for social activities and vacations. Their families became extended families for one another. Making friendships came easy to Judy. At their first home in Fridley, and in their long-time neighborhood in New Brighton, she made lifelong friends and connections. There are so many great memories with all these friends and each one was held so close to her heart. They all agreed that they found a respect and love for each other that lasted a lifetime. Please remember Judy when you spot the first robin each spring.

Judy loved to entertain her family and friends. Holidays were extremely important, but just getting together for a meal with family and friends brought great happiness to her. She was skilled at preparing meals for any gathering. She was an excellent cook and host and everyone always went home happy and fulfilled. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed decorating for special moments and making each person feel honored.

Judy always kept in touch with family and friends by sending cards and letters for any occasion from birthdays to weddings, to confirmations, and others. If you were on her list, you were going to get a card for that special occasion, and sometimes just because she was thinking of you. It was a treat if you received a card from Judy in the mail, especially if there was a generous gift inside, or a piece of sage advice!

She enjoyed working both in the home and outside of the home during the 1970s and 80s. For most of her life, she was very involved in her community churches, St. John the Baptist in New Brighton (MN), St. Joseph’s in Osceola (WI) , St. Joseph’s in Waconia (MN), and she loved attending mass outdoors in Palm Springs (CA). She was an integral part of the volunteer committees at St. John’s, and helped out whenever possible in all of her parish communities. She was a volunteer at the Osceola Medical Center and participated in many events to raise money for the hospital and community causes.

She was the ultimate Grandma, just ask her grandkids. Mama Judy instructed and entertained; Grandma Judy created the ultimate grandma experience. She teased and loved, cheered from the sidelines at sports games, enjoyed every program, fundraiser, and birthday party with great joy. She baked the children’s favorite treats, and was their biggest fan, showing everyone the pictures and photo calendars -- always keeping track of what each grandchild was doing and becoming. She was so proud of their varied strengths and achievements and so happy to see them grow up.

She found peace at her home on the lake where she had many flower gardens. She also loved to entertain there. The lake was a great place to gather, whether it was family or friends, and just be together and enjoy a beautiful sunset on the pontoon.

Her kind heart and generous spirit will be missed by all those she touched in her long and happy lifetime.

Thank you to the wonderful staff at Summerwood of Plymouth and the Optage Hospice Team (Presbyterian Home Services) for their care and comfort.
