With sadness and love the family of Josephine Calder announces her passing on November 3 at North Memorial Hospital at the age of 93 years. Born in Cumberland Wisconsin on March 15, 1928, the daughter of Pasquale and Jennie Zappa Monno, Josephine grew up in Cumberland on the family's farm along with six sisters and seven brothers before moving to the Twin Cities after high school. There she met her future husband Jack Calder and the two married in 1956 and moved to Crystal Minnesota where they raised their family of three boys and resided for forty-six years together. Retiring only late in life, Jack and Josephine enjoyed wintering in the Southwest until Jack's passing in 2002. Thereafter Josephine lived a quiet life supported in her later days by her loving and devoted youngest son Jon. Josephine is survived by her children, James (Michele), Jeffrey and Jon; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matthew), Ellen (Arnas), Preston and Peyton Calder; and her two great-grandchildren, Theodore and Dominic; as well as by her sisters, Mary and Cecilia along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family will hold private services for Josephine and will host a Celebration of Life for her in the upcoming summer.
