Jonathan Lee Hovick

Jonathan Lee Hovick, of Plymouth, died suddenly while doing what he loved to do, golfing with friends.

He was born on August 6, 1965 in Fairmont, MN to John and Marilyn (Simmering) Hovick. He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilbert and was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fairmont.  He attended St. Paul's Lutheran School in Fairmont and Fairmont High School.

Jon received his BA Degree from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and taught science at Butterfield, Mankato Loyola, North Branch, Pipestone, LeSueur and Robbinsdale schools, presently teaching at Maple Grove High School. He coached boys golf at Loyola High School (going to State!) and officiated basketball games for many years. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling, the Twins and the Gophers.

On May 6, 2004, he became a father to Jacob, his son who he loved dearly. On February 17, 2012, he married Jean Guezmir, who brought him much joy and love, and added two step daughters to his family.

Jon is survived by wife, Jean; son, Jacob; step daughters, Sophia and Sarah; parents, John and Marilyn Hovick of Fairmont; in-laws, Carol and Del Hoeve of Mission, Texas; brother, James (Julie) Hovick of O'Fallon, IL; sister, Jill (Brian) Wiebe of Lake Elmo; brother-in-law, Mark (Chung) Hoeve of Chicago, IL; nieces and nephews, Brandon, Michael, Emily and Justin Hovick, Grace, Abigail and Eve Wiebe; many aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by infant sister, Jodi; grandparents, Donald and Lorna Simmering and Albert and Dorotha Hovick.
