Jon David Benson

Jon D. Benson of Plymouth, MN passed away on December 16, 2023 at age 76. Preceded in death by parents Mary Jane and Jack Benson, son J. Ryan Benson, grandson Ryan Benson Jr., and twin sister Sara L. Benson.

Survived by two sons: Barrett and Jack Benson and their mother Shar Benson, sister Judy Williams, brother Don “Punch” Benson (Ann), granddaughter Olivia Benson, lots of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jon was a father, grandfather, and uncle.  He resided in both Florida and Minneapolis, but was raised in Springfield, Illinois.  He was an avid Twins and Vikings fan, loved deep sea fishing and having a good time.  He was a pioneer in the adolescent substance abuse rehabilitation field.  He was the founder and CEO of On-Belay of MN (and NJ, PA, Ohio).

A small service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapels in Plymouth, MN.  Visitation 10:00 am, Service 11:00 am, and a light lunch following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
