John (“Jack”) Patrick Kruse
On Tuesday May 10, 2022, Jack Kruse, loving son and brother, passed away at the age of 21.
Jack was an exuberant, inquisitive, and fun-loving child who had an amazing zest for life. An animal lover and avid reader, he spent his elementary years at Holy Family Academy where he first developed a love of the fine arts. When he moved on to Providence Academy for high school, he continued to find joy in various musical groups and theatre performances. He was a spunky character, loyal and compassionate friend, generous spirit, serial hugger, and creative artist.
In addition to participating in every PA musical and Coffee House open mic night, Jack began writing, producing, and performing his own music. His eclectic taste produced many original songs across a wide variety of musical genres. He was happiest listening to great music, and he sang all day every day. We always knew where Jack was.
After spending a short period of time at Belmont University in Nashville, Jack was diagnosed with a severe and complex mental illness which he battled courageously for the remainder of his days. He was the light of our lives and will be missed beyond measure.
Jack is survived by his parents, Kathy and Tom Kruse, along with his brother Matthew Kruse, his birth mom, Allisa Brunner (Ian Alexander), and her children: Thelma Cotter, Esther Cotter, Florence Cotter, Maudrie Alexander, and James Alexander. Grandparents Joan Burke, Margaret Kruse, Mike and Bonnie Brunner, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceded in death by grandfathers William Burke and Paul Kruse.
Visitation to be held from 5-8 pm on Monday May 16, 2022 at Gearty Delmore Park Chapel (3960 Wooddale Ave. S in St. Louis Park, MN 55416). Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 1 pm on Tuesday May 17, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church (5900 W. Lake Street in St. Louis Park, MN 55416).
