Menne, John J., age 86 of Golden Valley passed away peacefully with his family at his side on 12/11/2019 after a brief illness. John was born in St. James, Minnesota as the seventh of eight children. He married Jeanette Ellingboe after moving to Minneapolis to attend Dunwoody Institute and worked for the Hennepin County Highway Department for 33 years before retiring to many years of landscaping, golfing and traveling. He was a fixture at his church, adored his children and grandchildren and never spoke an unkind word about anyone.
Mass of Christian Burial Saturday (12/21), 11 AM with visitation starting at 10 AM at St. Joseph Parish Center, 8701 36 th Ave. No., New Hope. Private interment Ft. Snelling. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Joseph Parish Center or Habitat for Humanity.
Preceded in death by wife, Jeanette; brothers, William, Gerald and Eugene; sisters, Katherine, Rosella and Anna Mae. Survived by children, Brenda (Bill) Siems, Brian, Matthew (Shannon), and Mark (Mary) McClintock; grandchildren, Krista (George), Nathan (Anna), Simone, and Jude; dearest companion Dee; sister, Lucille; numerous friends, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
