John W. Gausman

Jack died at Quiet Oaks Hospice House near St. Cloud on May 7, 2016.  Jack was born in Owatonna to Sidney Anton Gausman and Alice “Peggy” (Green) Gausman June 24, 1924 and grew up in Alberta and Morris.   He served in the US Navy during WWII, earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of MN and worked 40 years with Honeywell.   Jack was engaged in the community and was an active volunteer. Most dear to his heart was being a delegate to the Republican National Convention, attending Ronald Reagan’s Inaugural Ball, serving as chairman of parish council at Holy Family Catholic Church, and receiving his 25 year service award from Methodist Hospital.

He married Virginia Mich in 1948; together they had 3 children, Janet (Greg) Reigstad of St. Cloud, James W. (Beth) Gausman of Ramsey, and Jennifer Gausman (Mike) Benson of Albuquerque, NM.  After 49 years of marriage, Virginia died in 1997.  Jack married Gloria Feik in 1999 and she died in 2012.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bridget Reigstad, Marie Ellis, Bradley Gausman, Daniel Gausman, and Mark Montoya; great-grandchildren, Virginia Molitor and Jack Ellis; brother, Tony (Donna) Gausman of Morris; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by sister, Elaine (Tom) Tolman.

Graveside Service 3:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Theresia Cemetery, Donnelly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to American Heart Assn. or Quiet Oaks Hospice House.

Visitation one hour prior to service.
