Jessica Lynn Peterson

JESSICA L.PETERSON

August 13, 1977-November 21, 2021

Jessica was born on August 13th, 1977 to parents John and Stephanie Hamann.  She grew up in River Falls, WI and attended River Falls High School, The College of St. Benedict and Northwestern Health Sciences University.

John and Stephanie provided Jessica the parental tools that allowed a continuation of the most core family value, love. With purpose, they raised their only daughter to be a strong and confident woman, capable of achieving anything she dreamed.

Growing up with her big brother Chad provided Jessica a protector, sidekick and best friend. Chad and Jessica were always inseparable as children, evolving into confidants as they grew into adulthood.

The definition of love could be stated as finding your soul’s counterpart in another. Jessica did this in 1998 while attending college, meeting the love of her life and father of her children, Joe Peterson. They married shortly thereafter in 2003. Their love blossomed from that of two young adults to that of eternal soulmates. Their family was finally complete with the arrival of their daughter Abigail and son Jack.

Jessica loved to travel and wanted vacations that would mirror her heart and passion to explore the world. Naturally to escape the cold Minnesota winters, her vacations consisted of the warm and tropical places this beautiful world has to offer.

Too few of us have what can be described as a “truly noble profession.”  Jessica’s calling and life’s ambition was, simply put, to make the lives of others better. After 4 years of additional schooling at Northwestern, Jessica became a doctor and was ready to transition her passion for helping others into action. Countless people are living healthier lives today due to her dedication and drive to help those in need. Jessica had the integrity to practice the lifestyle she preached and wanted others to live true wellness. As a woman of conviction, her family, friends, and clients had the strongest advocate in their corner.

Jessica was as fierce and stubborn as she was intelligent and beautiful. Anyone who experienced the full range of Jessica knows that she was a true force of nature. Simply put, she was larger than life.

After being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2019, Jessica became nothing short of a warrior. She fought with every ounce of her being, using her children, husband, family and friends as motivation to achieve the impossible, heal her body from cancer.

Jessica loved her 2 children Abby and Jack more than anything in this world. She dedicated her life, heart, and soul to them, instilling core values of happiness and encouraging them to be their true selves.  Her memory, legacy and love will live on through them.

Jessica is survived by husband Joe, daughter Abigail and son Jack, parents John and Stephanie Hamann, and brother Chad Hamann.
