Jeffrey Jon Zimmerman, 61, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019, in Las Vegas, NV. He was born on March 11, 1958 in Berwyn, IL, to Josephine and C.T. "Bud" Zimmerman. He was raised in Omaha, NE, and was a member of the Westside High School class of 1976.
He married Sue Goodrich on September 6, 1985 and moved to the Twin Cities in December, 1985. After completing his education at Brown Institute, he pursued a career in broadcasting, serving as a traffic reporter for both WLTE and WCCO for over a decade. Jeff lived life to the fullest, actively participating in baseball, softball and dart leagues. He enjoyed spending time with friends but most especially, with his three children building memories while camping and travelling.
Jeff is survived by his sons, Matt (Chelsea) Zimmerman, Jon (Rachel) Zimmerman and his daughter, Kim Zimmerman; his former wife and friend, Sue Zimmerman; brothers Greg (Sue) Zimmerman, Bruce (Stacey) Zimmerman, and sister, Lisa Zimmerman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be a visitation and luncheon for family and friends on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 3960 Wooddale Ave South, St. Louis Park, MN.
