Jeanette Myrtle (Edlund) Uecker, 76, died in her home on April 11, 2021 after an almost two year battle with terminal cancer. Jeanette was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 26, 1945. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1963. Earlier in her career, she worked for Cargill. After moving to Northfield in 1984, Jeanette worked at Perman’s Department Store. She later worked at Talbots in downtown Minneapolis and Maple Grove, Minnesota, where she was currently residing. Jeanette loved fashion and shopping. She enjoyed her role as a mother, and later mother-in law and grandmother and she enjoyed doting on her family. She made her family’s favorite meals and baked goods. She loved spoiling her kids at holiday time with gifts and treats. Jeanette was loyal and dedicated to all of her family and always did her best to keep in touch and take care of them.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Grace Edlund, her sister Barbara and brother-in-law Donald Jensen, and her son Terry Zdon. She is survived by her children Tammy (Tim) Carlson of Battle Lake, MN; Todd (Jill) Uecker of St. Paul, MN; Brad (Cheryl) Uecker of Singapore, daughter-in-law, Holly Sprunger of Golden, CO; and grandchildren, Emily Carlson and her fiance Isaac Daigle, Elise Carlson, Eli Carlson, Mats Zdon and Pavel Zdon, two brothers Roy (Sandy) Edlund of Maple Grove, MN; Kenneth (Karen) Edlund of Victoria, MN; and her loving partner and companion, Doug Lehman, who cared for her until the end of her life.
There will be a private family ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to The American Diabetes Association or the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota.
