May 28, 1935 — April 4, 2016

Jeanette U. Nistler

Formerly of Hamel.

Greeted in heaven by her husband of 48 years, Lee; parents, Anne and Clem Kohorst; sister, Milly; and brother, Ervin.

She will be deeply missed by her four daughters, Deb Tessman (Dave), Sue Haugen (Kevin), Linda McGuire (John), and Patty Swanson (Don); her eight grandchildren, Mitch (Carly), Nick (Nicole), Matt, Andy (fiancé Casey), Jessica (Reece), Jacob, Hannah and Jack; great-grandson, Noah; and five brothers and four sisters.

Jean knew the value of family having grown up in Albany, MN, one of  twelve children.  She married the love of her life, Lee, and moved to the Twin Cities where they had a successful trucking business for over twenty-five years.  Together they enjoyed their many travels with family and friends but especially their time spent at their cabin in Baudette, MN, where they made lasting friendships and many good memories.    While Lee fished, Jean quilted.  Her quilts will keep us warm and comforted for many years to come.  After Lee’s death, she took pleasure in being with her grandkids and most recently her great-grandson, gambling trips with Arnie and Sue and her dogs, Brandy and Buddy.

Jean’s faith was strong and her generosity was her hallmark.  Her legacy lives on in her love for her grandkids and family.  Jean was a long time parishioner of the Church of St. Anne.

Her family would especially like to thank those who gave mom such wonderful and compassionate care these past two weeks. Especially Mary Trombley, NP-C and the nursing staff at Maple Grove Hospital and the staff at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn, Park, MN.  You made her final journey more comfortable and it is greatly appreciated.

Memorials are suggested to the J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice and Underdog Rescue.

Thanks mom for everything, we will carry on now with your examples of kindness, deep faith and love.
