Jean Anne Janes, 53, of Robbinsdale, MN passed away on November 16, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 23, 2022 at 10:30 am at the American Lutheran Church in Huron, SD.
Jean Anne was born March 1, 1967 in Huron, SD to Vernon and Jeanne Janes. She was the third of four daughters. She was baptized and confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Huron, SD. She attended Washington Elementary, Huron Jr. and Sr. High and graduated in the class of 1985 from Huron High School. As an active member of the student council, she had a dream to go into politics some day. Following high school graduation, she attended St. Cloud State University majoring in political science her first year, then transferring to Mankato State (now Minnesota State University, Mankato) to continue in the political science program. Jean Anne had a strong work ethic, and had several jobs to put herself through college. After her college experience, she moved to Minneapolis and was hired as a recruiter for a few years and an Account Executive for a collections agency. She found a passion in college enrollment and admissions and went to work for Brown College as an Assistant Director to Enrollment Services. From there she worked for the Art Institute International MN as the Assistant Director of Admissions. After discovering a newly found interest, she went to work for TCF Bank. She worked for several years as a Branch Lending Officer. During her professional career she was active in several organizations such as Career College Compliance and MNTRN (Minnesota Talent & Recruiting Network.
Jean Anne was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching all sports. She was a very proud Aunt and loved supporting her nieces and nephews in school, church and sporting activities. Further, she loved flowers and gardening and took pride in her home. She loved to cook and fed everyone who came to her home. She was the ultimate hostess and made you feel so welcome with her love, laughter and hugs!! She had a zest for life and loved spending time with people. Jean Anne never forgot her roots, and cherished her life long friendships. She had the innate ability to read people like a book. She could tell if something was troubling you and would immediately offer her love and support. Her smile and energy was contagious!! There will truly be no one like her on this earth and she will forever be missed.
Those grateful for having shared in her life are her three sisters, Julie Janes of Edina, MN; Suzette (Dan) Olson of Castle Rock, CO and Jennifer (Scott) Pierce of New Prague, MN. She is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews: Andrea Batt; Allison (Parker) Payne; Alexander Batt; Brittany Olson of Castle Pines, CO; Blake Olson of Santa Monica, CA ; Brett (Heather) Olson of Parker, CO; Elizabeth, Caroline, Jillian and Jack Pierce and a great niece, Avery Fabin of Castle Pines, CO. She also is survived by MANY friends she considered her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Jeanne Janes, Grandparents Don and Lucille Janes and Ed and Clara Siegel, Aunts Judy Siegel, Joanie Blair, Bev Hassel, Bev Janes, Donna Simonsen and Uncles Willie Siegel, Kenneth Janes and Don Simonsen.
