Janet Muriel (née Ralston) Johnson
Janet Muriel Johnson (née Ralston), died peacefully on October 26, 2018 at the age of 97 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Janet is survived by her younger sister Charlotte Patricia Phelps (husband Gilbert), sister-in-law Hazel Ralston, son Warren Johnson (wife Louise), daughter Lucinda Suplick (husband Mike), daughter Lauri Johnson (husband David Roberson), daughter Genevieve Johnson (husband Mike Kinnee), six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Janet was born in Valentine, Nebraska on September 23, 1921. She was a tireless volunteer for PTA, Girl Scouts, Red Cross, PEO and many other organizations. Janet earned college degrees as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services and a Masters in Social Work (MSW). Janet was proud of her work, which included caring for special needs children, geriatric counseling, Alzheimer’s research, and serving as a recreational therapist in an adult day care center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to P.E.O. International for a scholarship fund (credit to Chapter EF), or Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska for a travel fund.
A private interment will be held in Wood Lake, Nebraska.
