Jim grew up in Mankato and met the love of his life, Betsy, while attending Mankato Teachers College. They were married in 1949 and lived in Minnesota Lake and Fargo before settling in Bloomington in 1958.
Jim had his own mechanical estimating company for many years and later worked for North Central Sales. In retirement he enjoyed being editor of the PHCC magazine.
Jim played clarinet and sax in dance bands and the Mankato Elks Band for many years. A longtime member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. Jim's favorite place was their lake home on Lake Washington near Mankato.
Survived by wife, Betsy; daughter Jackie (Wayne) Peterson, son Marshall (Vicki Snitzler) Neeck; grandchildren Ben (Michelle) Peterson and Kaitlyn Peterson; great-grandson, Beckett.
