Passed away in Minnetonka, MN after suffering for many years with Parkinson's disease. Jim was born and lived in the farming community of Tabor, MN where he enjoyed learning, sports and working on the family farm, which he later managed. He was educated at St. John's University and the University of North Dakota where he earned an M.A. in English. Jim taught English and Latin at Hill-Murray and St. Bernard High Schools in St. Paul and taught English Literature at Dickinson State College. Jim was a staunch advocate for human rights, marching in the South for civil rights in the 1960's and dedicated to the pro-life movement. A devoted husband and father, Jim is survived by his wife, Margaret and son Edward; brothers, John (Michele), Joe (Shannon), Mark (Bonnie); sisters, Mary Ann Tintes (Wally), Carol Vanyo (Sylvester), Patricia (Marty Plitnick), Renee (John O'Leary) and Jeanne Tack (Larry); brother-in-law Kevin Donahue; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorials preferred to the National Parkinson's Foundation of MN or Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL).
